Internships - No Nurse Should Start the Journey Alone

Launching your nursing career or transitioning into a new nursing role is an exciting time, but it can also be a little frightening. Our three unique internships offer individualized attention in a challenging, yet nurturing, environment. You’re never alone in our internship; our educators and preceptors are with you as a coach, mentor, and resource to enhance your learning experience.

Clinical Practice—Nursing Internship Program

Often times, the new nurse graduate as well as the experienced nurse looking to move into an alternate role, are thrust into clinical care situations with little or no quantifiable background. At PeaceHealth Southwest, the Nurse Internship Program has been established to assist in this transition. Through formal classroom and clinical instruction, the Internship Program focuses not only on strengthening the intern's proficiency, but more importantly on increasing patient safety and patient outcomes.

Requirements for consideration include:

• Current Washington RN license by the program start date
• Prefer one year of recent experience on a medical or surgical acute care unit or a recent senior practicum on a Critical Care Unit
• Must commit to full-time hours during the internship
• Must commit to the equivalent of 2 years of full time employment in the Intensive Care Unit or Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit following successful completion of the internship program

• Current Washington RN license by the program start date
• Prefer one year of recent experience on a medical or surgical acute care unit or a recent senior practicum in the Emergency department or other critical care unit
• Must commit to full-time hours during the internship
• Must commit to the equivalent of 2 years of full time employment in the Emergency Department following successful completion of the internship program

• Current Washington RN license by the program start date
• Must commit to full-time hours during the internship
• Must commit to the equivalent of 2 years of full time employment in the Operating Room following successful completion of the internship program
